Research - Captain Earwax

I discovered this street artist called Captain Earwax. I love the way that he works with facial abstraction and distorted facial features. I explored his work and found lots of examples of where he had been commissioned to produce murals, inside and outside. Its also interesting to see his sketchbooks in relation to his large scale painting. The way he has perfected a unique and eye catching way of working that is consistent throughout his practice. The selling point within his work all comes from his unique visual signature and the ability to transfer it across different environments. I feel like the scale of his murals really help to emphasise the shapes and line work within the designs. Working on a large scale is vital for artist like this (and myself) its the key way that they can experiment within their skills and get the full potential out of them. Im not saying that small scale work isnt as worth while - but working on a large scale is definitely a good way of working with expressive drawing skills, with lots of space too figure out your own visual personality (shapes, line quality, patterns etc).
